Subject: Actually this seems rather silly

Mobile comms services shouldn't put the responsibility on Internet architecture just so they can flood the Internet with additional traffic.  Certainly IPv6 will make this a rather moot argument, but mobile comms service providers will need to solve this problem for themselves instead of burdening the already limited address space.

At the very least, the use of NAT or some sort of encapsulated protocol is required here - and there's no reason why mobile comms devices need to operate strictly via IP.
