To whom it may concern,

I think competition should be in place in every aspect of the economy and so I am very pleased about the agreement you arranged between Network Solutions and the Commerce Department.  Additional registrars will help the process go smoothly for everyone.

I knew that competition was under discussion but that there had been some sticking points in the negotiations.  With the increase in competition, the cost of registration will drop and I think that customer service will also improve.

Another important issue is the overall stability of Internet-related businesses.  I think this agreement will at least make a start at spelling out which organization will be responsible for what process.  By making that more clear, the Internet infrastructure will be strengthened.

This is a promising start to finding solutions before they become insurmountable problems and I strongly support your efforts.

Sincerely,
John Havis
