On June 6, the ICANN Board, after reviewing the public
comments, adopted the proposed budget for FY00-01. I would like to thank all
those who posted constructive comments and suggestions on the public forum for their
interest and their time in participating. Although the Board did not adjust
the budget at this time in response to the comments, it did consider a number of
them to have merit for future consideration. Here are a few specific notes
about the budget comments. - The Board will consider a permanent budget for the
At Large membership costs as part of the study that is planned for late this calendar
year and early next year. - The Board also intends to revise the budget to deal
with costs and revenues associated with the root server system enhancements, and
with the expansion of gTLD registries, when more complete information is available
later in the year -Mike Roberts.
