Mr. Younger's posts on the wg-reveiw are a long read, but well worth the time and effort.  As a member of the group I recommend at least scanning through it.  The recommendation on constituencies speaks for itself, lots of lively discussion on a heated subject.  The work of this group is not over, it has only begun what is proving to be a thorn in the sides of upper level powers-that-be.  That can be the only reason for it's being terminated.  Were the participants too effective?  It was closely watched as it worked out difficult subject matter, some of which defies simple definition.  Still, problems to be addressed were pointed out and solutions or directions toward possible solutions indicated, with dissenting opinions recognized.  Directors, Where do you wish ICANN to go?  What kind of DNSO is wanted?  The internet is a rapidly changing environment.  The addressing needs are not fixed, and need rapid response--not collision courses.  It is an extrememly expensive 'animal' and needs its big commercial players.  Yet, looking at the broadcast media, one may wish to have something other than an electronic shopping mall.  ICANN has the opportunity to become the pivot to removing USG control of a global entity.  Change from within can make this a fact, if it doesn't allow the US centric commercial interests to attempt to dominate.  Participate, yes, absolutely.  Yet interested internet users with the time and ability to contribute to the process are going to be players in the development of the various parts, including rollout of domains, general and 'various' restricted or structured.  We have as a fact of current web life multiple roots in operation.  More are coming, some are mandatory for non-latin based character languages, others for more restrictive governments, and beyond.  No, I'm not off my subject.  This working group had a specific charter and time frame.  Ok, too short, extended, then ended before much we could have recommended was fully looked at.  This type of review of self is necessary unless we want change mandated from outside, or be desolved and another 'NewCo' launched.  I won't go on and on beating the horse to death, But if we don't fix from within...Hey! Have a good day!
