In response to issue of domain name hijacking, isn't three years of preservation
a bit excessive? If one were so worried about his or her domain name being
stolen upon expiration, I would think that a person would go to all of the necessary
measures to ensure it's reregistration. That is, if he or she cared passionately
about the domain name in the first place. Additionally, maybe a more prominent notification
of domain name reregistration system should be in place to alert users of potential
expiration. With regards to the hijacking, kudos to those who are quick to
take over leftovers, for you are quick on your feet. As the old adage goes,
"you snooze, you lose."
