The registry had undue control over their customer, after initial
"purchase" decision, whereas the registrar does not.  The difference isn
fundamental.

Chris neglected to mention that the 12 IAHC members who made this deciion
were from a very wide range of backgrounds and views.  More importantly,
none was or is seeking to make money from registries, as Chris wishes to do.
