Dear Sirs:
The cost of acquisition of a gTLD is too high for most companies. How
are smaller companies supposed to afford the cost of purchasing their
own names, much less that of $1,000 - $5,000 per objection to someone
else's trademark infringement on that name?
At the very least, ICANN should allow for a period of time for existing
companies with established, registered trademarks to register those
trademarks with ICANN (or ICANN should be required to do a trademark
search) to avoid this problem.
