Dear All:
In the US there are 33 states that will allow you to fire someone who is gay,
yet over 90% of fortune 500 corporations support gay employees with
non-discrimination. In West Africa gay couples have recently been arrested and
tortured for getting married, so have individuals working in community service
organizations supporting gay issues. While most of the EU acknowledge
non-discrimination and even marriage.
ICAAN needs to set a global example of openness and tolerance.
The Incitement clause, currently states:
"Incitement to or promotion of discrimination based upon race, color, gender,
ethnicity, religion, or national origin; "
We recommend this be rewritten to include, disability, and actual or perceived
sexual orientation or gender identity and should be modified to read:
"Incitement to or promotion of discrimination based upon race, color, gender,
disability, actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity,
ethnicity, religion, or national origin;"
Thank you for your consideration.
