MarkMonitor respectfully submits these detailed comments on Module 1.
1.1.2.3 Initial Evaluation
In the event that more than 500 applications are received in the first
round and that application batching is required, additional information
regarding the methods to be used should be clearly defined prior to the
launch of the new gTLD Program. The method used for the batching of
applications could materially affect the way in which applicants prepare
their respective submissions.
1.1.2.4 Objection Filing
MarkMonitor respectfully requests that the period for filing objections
after the posting of initial results is extended a minimum of 30 days.
Two weeks simply is not enough time to prepare objections and many may
want to wait for the initial results before making the monetary and time
investments necessary to file an objection.
1.3.3 IDN Variant TLDs
Methods for resolving variant TLD conflicts should be identified and
communicated to the community well in advance of the launch of the new
gTLD program. The methods used to resolve such conflicts could
materially affect the way in which applicants prepare their respective
submissions.
