RE: [alac] ALAC participation in new gTLDs
My only concern is that at this delicate stage of the selection process the intention of establishing a collaboration could be seen as an implicit endorsement, and therefore influence the evaluation. Just go through the list of applicants, and mentally check whether ALAC would be willing to sit in the policy-making bodies of each of them. If you can find at least one where you don't want to see the ALAC name, maybe we should not offer this possibility to anybody. That is not to say that we cannot establish a collaboration at a later time, with the selected ones, and only witht the ones we see fit (and that see us fit). At a later time we will not have the concern of "equal treatment" for fairness.
