<P><FONT color=navy>This message is addressed to all representatives of 
Governments, public authorities of distinct economies and to all members of the 
general public with an interest or concern about the Internet naming and 
addressing system, particularly as it affects public policy.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT color=navy>You have visited the Web Site of the <A 
href="http://www.icann.org/"; target=1>ICANN</A> Governmental Advisory Committee 
(<A href="http://gac.icann.org/web/about/index.shtml"; target=1>GAC</A>). You 
will find here a large amount of information about the responsibilities and 
activities of government representatives in the context of the ICANN 
organisation. In particular you will find information about which governments 
are currently represented in GAC, our <A 
href="http://gac.icann.org/web/meetings/index.shtml"; target=1>meetings</A> 
schedule, and a number of <A 
href="http://gac.icann.org/web/milestones/index.shtml"; target=1>policy 
statements</A> that have been made during the past five years, since GAC began 
its work in early 1999.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT color=navy>Under the <A 
href="http://gac.icann.org/web/contact/index.shtml"; target=1>GAC Contacts</A> 
page, you will find the names and coordinates of the Accredited <A 
href="http://gac.icann.org/web/contact/reps/index.shtml"; 
target=1>Representatives</A> for each GAC Member. This list is up-dated 
regularly for new members and members who change their representatives. In 
keeping with our policy of openness and transparency, members of the public are 
invited express their concerns to their respective GAC representative and to 
have the opportunity to have their concerns presented in the GAC. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT color=navy>Although GAC membership is steadily increasing, there are 
still a number of countries that are not yet represented. If your home country 
is among them, and you wish to enquire about GAC membership on behalf of your 
government, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT color=navy>I encourage the Internet community and the general public, 
world-wide to make use of their GAC representatives and to work with us, as 
part of the ICANN process, to facilitate the development of a comprehensive 
international public-private partnership in this important area of management 
of the global Internet infrastructure.</FONT></P>
