The Global Public interest; The Multi-Stakeholder System – A Choice for the Future

Greater efforts must be made by ICANN to build awareness of its role in the
development of the internet especially in the developing countries which
are now recognizing the importance of the internet and internet governance
issues.

Many agencies,  organisations and internet users in the developing
countries are not aware that ICANN exists.
