<html><body><span style="font-family:Verdana; color:#000000;
font-size:10pt;"><div>Marilyn,</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you and the
others on the call this morning. I appreciated the attention and hope I
was able to offer insight to my candidacy for GNSO Councilor. For BC
members not on the call, I want to offer my email address (<a
href="mailto:john@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx">john@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</a>) and mobile
number, 415.845.4388, should you have any question or
advice.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Getting the transcript out so fast is an
aid to all the BC, particularly those who might have wanted to be on the call
but could not. As you read it, I think you will see as I heard this
morning an urge on the part of BC members to grow the constituency, evolve the
role of Councilor and the sharpen the influence of the business voice inside
ICANN. I am on board for all that.<br></div><div><br></div><div>As I said
this morning, there is very good reason for companies in every corner of the
globe to be a part of the effort. A part of our job at the BC is to make
it evident why they ought to be involved. And the role of a Councilor is
to carry that consensus forward and to build coalitions that can serve as
stronger platforms for policy.</div><div><br></div><div>Policy is
architecture. If we get the policy right, the shape of the organization
and the security, stability and resiliency of the Internet will be
achieved.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div><br></div><div>John
Berard<br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
