Dear colleagues,

 

Following today's almost 2 hour BC conference call it became clear to me how
much volunteer work our Ex Comm continues to do, along with the professional
support of our Secretariat, on behalf of all BC members.  The BC, as an
ICANN constituency, holds a well-respected position with the Board, staff
and larger Community as a direct result of their efforts and we owe a debt
of gratitude to the Ex Comm for this highly regarded stature.

 

What is somewhat disheartening, to me, as well I imagine to our Ex Comm, is
the silence that echoes back on the telephone bridge when the members are
asked to volunteer to join drafting teams for public comments - something
all members agree are vital.  So this short note is meant to encourage all
members to consider pitching in from time to time to support our leadership
with a few hours here and there to help craft our best arguments to bring to
the ICANN debates.

 

Thanks to all for all your contributions in the noble cause of ICANN.
