Thanks for this, Caroline. I met w some WC officials last week and got a bit of
a flavor, but this is extremely useful to have for all BC members.
The longer blog from Neelie is worth a reed, especially for BC members who are
actively engaged in Internet governance and IGF, recalling that she has been a
strong champion of the IGF.

Subject: [bc-gnso] EC launches consultation on Internet Governance
Dear all,
Of possible interest to some members -
The European Commission has today launched a consultation on Internet
Governance, which will run for 4 weeks.
In her blog post of yesterday, Commissioner Kroes recalled recent events that
have inspired the consultation, including the EU's 'legitimate concerns'
regarding some TLD applications - see
http://ec.europa.eu/commission_2010-2014/kroes/en/content/internet-governance-i-want-your-views.
The consultation document addresses some ICANN issues and the role of
Governments within the GAC.
Kind regards,
Caroline Greer
