Stop Variable Pricing of Domains
As a businessman who relies heavily on the Internet for his business activities, I strongly oppose the attempt in this proposal to lift price controls on registry services and thereby allow registrars to set pricing on a per-domain basis rather than a TLD basis. Cost of living or other indexed price adjustments are important to keeping the registrars financially healthy and deserve support, but completely deregulating the pricing structure is ill-advised, poorly timed and ultimately dangerous both to the registrars who will inevitably lose much business and to the business owner who will be forced to abandon established domain names which the registars feel merit higher or even outrageous pricing. Please reconsider this proposal. Dan Shafer President Shafer Media |
