Dear ICANN,
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the proposed "Variable Pricing"
concept.
As a small business owner utilizing the Internet, I am opposed to this
proposal and urge ICANN to reconsider such a change in domain name pricing.
Such a change may drive many small businesses off the Internet if the cost
of establishing a website is made prohibitive due to domain name cost. At
this time, as you are well aware of, numerous small businesses are developing
an
Internet presence, in great part due to the reasonable costs involved. This
includes the purchase of an appropriate domain name.
Please keep in mind that small businesses worldwide, including many in
economically depressed locations, are establishing their online operations.
By
maintaining the current price structure, ICANN is supporting this movement.
I urge ICANN to vote against Variable Pricing.
Most sincerely,
Tom Armstrong
Online small business owner
