Subject: [board-09georegionswg] Action Items From Two Seoul Geo Regions WG
Meetings
Dear Working Group Members:
Thank you for some very productive discussions in Seoul. Set forth below are
the action items agreed to by attendees at the two WG meetings last week.
ACTION ITEMS:
1. Staff committed to revise the draft Survey Document/Questions consistent
with WG member input. (see new version RHv4HU attached to this message and
posted on the WG wiki page -
https://st.icann.org/geo-review-wg/index.cgi?working_documents).
2. Working Group members agreed to add additional comments/edits to the
revised Survey Document/Questions as desired (Please complete and send comments
back to RobH via email (cc'ing entire WG list) by 13 November)
3. Staff committed to discuss appropriate (and creative) survey methodology
and delivery with Big Pulse. (Big Pulse contacted electronically and
telephonically this week with follow-up next week).
4. WG Members agreed to review and add specific personal comments to each row
of the draft Interim Report Annex B - Matters To Be Taken Into Consideration.
WG Member contributions will be used to help further structure the draft
Interim Report and to flesh out areas of commonality as well as diverging
points of view among WG members - not by their individual communities (that
comes later). That Annex B document has been uploaded to the WG wiki page -
https://st.icann.org/geo-review-wg/index.cgi?working_documents and has been
laid-out at the bottom of the working documents page to facilitate edits and
comments directly on the wiki by WG members. I have also attached a copy of
that Annex B to this message. (Consistent with discussions in Seoul, edits and
or comments should be posted directly on the wiki page as "edits" or emailed to
RobH (cc'ing the WG list) within two weeks - 20 November.)
4. Chair agreed to prepare note to ICANN SO/AC leaders giving them an update
on the planned survey and encouraging community participation. (Target 20
November)
5. Staff agreed to circulate a copy of the "mind map" figure used during the
29 October meeting. (Bart has already circulated that document to the list)
6. Staff committed to set up Doodle scheduling poll to determine date and time
of next WG meeting/call. (Target meeting week of 6 December).
Looking forward to your comments on the various documents. Please alert me as
soon as possible if you experience any difficulties with the wiki page
edit/comment function. WG members in Seoul agreed to try the direct wiki
editing method, but if anyone experiences difficulty I am happy to try to add
edits to the wiki that you provide to me via email. The goal is to improve the
editing process - not to create new challenges for any WG members.
Also, please comment if there are any action items I missed or if clarification
of any of the above six items is necessary.
Thank you all for your continued interest in and commitment to this effort!
Best regards,
Rob Hoggarth
