Summary and Analysis of Comments For CAC UDRP Pilot Project
ICANN staff has prepared this summary and analysis of comments received on the
CAC UDRP Pilot Project. The comment period ran from 22 July 2009 to 21 August
2008. Eight comments were received by eigth individuals (seven off topic and
appeared to be Spam). The public comments on this forum are archived at
http://forum.icann.org/lists/cac-pilot/.
Summary:
Only one comment addressed the Czech Arbitration Court (CAC) Pilot Project.
Kristine Dorrain, Internet Legal Counsel for the National Arbitration Forum,
noted that while there is need to streamline processes for providing mandatory
hard copies and effecting initial service upon the domain name registrant, CAC
is not well poised to evaluate the efficiency of the streamlining of the
process. She noted that the National Arbitration Forum, a current UDRP
provider, is better suited to evaluate the efficiencies and proposed to
"conduct this project in tandem with the CAC", conduct the same type of trial
and "offer additional analysis".
The remaining comments were unsolicited advertising or comments bearing no
relation to any topic under consideration. Those comments are not further
summarized or identified here.
