Dear Bart,

As requested, I have taken the following steps to seek input and comments from the Asia Pacific area on the ccPDP Issues Report:

* face to face discussion with members present at the APTLD Meeting in Singapore, on 6 July 2005. The outcome of that discussion is summarised below.

* Email outlining the process and soliciting comments from APTLD Members, with reminders, asking for feedback. Two members have replied, in both cases noting no substantive comments on the Issues Report.

* Email to ccTLD managers from the Asia Pacific region who are not APTLD members or members of the ccNSO, outlining the PDP and asking for any input. No responses were received by today.

The discussion at the APTLD meeting considered the points raised in the Issues Report. Generally, the members present felt that the issues raised could be usefully clarified in the bylaws, if doing so allay the concerns of the ccTLDs who raised the issues being considered.

Issues d) and l) were regarded as the most important among the issues raised.

Members will consider the more refined and specified proposals put forward for consultation in the Initial Report, and may provide more feedback at that point.

We are willing also to engage in earlier communication with the ccTLDs in the region who are not part of the APTLD or ccNSO, to encourage them to provide feedback in response to the Initial Report.

Any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best regards,

Jordan Carter
