Generic TLD's

It is difficult to see how truly generic terms can be closed.  I would
be concerned that making generic terms closed will lead to increased
competition litigation, and to a clash with trademark law, as generic
terms are by definition not capable of distinguishing the goods or
services of one company from those of another
