Dear CCWG,
Included below please see the comment from Root Server System Advisory
Committee (RSSAC) on the latest CCWG proposal.
Best regards,
On behalf of
RSSAC

21 December 2015
The RSSAC, composed of the root server operators and others closely involved in
the operations of the DNS root services, has reviewed the the Cross Community
Working Group (CCWG) Proposal on ICANN Accountability Enhancements (Work Stream
1) [1] and observed the ICANN community process.
The RSSAC has no position about the proposed accountability mechanisms for
ICANN. The RSSAC states that its purpose, charter, focus and resourcing do not
cover participation in such accountability mechanisms. In the foreseeable
future RSSAC does not expect this to change.
The RSSAC notes that in the draft proposal, the CCWG has put some placeholder
text of mission revision for RSSAC input [2]. The RSSAC is discussing the
proposed bylaw language and expects to provide specific response on the
language by 10 January 2016.
