Comments on Khmer LGR Proposal by Thai GP team

Dear Khmer GP, 

 

Congratulations for your achievement. And thank you for giving us
opportunity to submit comments towards your Khmer GP.

 

We have looked at the Khmer GP proposal and we felt that it was
well-written. We also paid attention to the variant part which Thai GP has
been working on particular similarity between Khmer and Thai scripts. On the
proposal, Khmer GP stated clearly that there are no cross variant scripts
between Khmer and Thai script that we agree in principle. 

 

However, Thai GP team has been working on cross variant part as well. And we
came up with list of scripts that have a potential leading for confusion
between Khmer and Thai scripts since its shape looks similarly. Please find
attached file on cross variant that Thai GP team came up with for your
consideration. 

 

We would happy to coordinate a round table discuss on the cross variant if
possible so that we could have a comprehensive GP on both Khmer and Thai GP.
