DNS-OARC supports the principle that any significant changes to the DNS
should be monitored via appropriate data-gathering, and that approaches/
processes proposed for Collisions mitigation fall under the category of
such a significant change.

DNS-OARC wishes to thank the community for the support it has had in
playing a key role in gathering Collisions data to date, welcomes
proposals, and affirms its willingness, for continuing this role. In
particular, subject to appropriate co-operation and resource support,
OARC is receptive to using its infrastructure to receive and archive
resolution data from new gTLD registries, root server operators and
other participants; and making that data available to interested parties
including researchers, as it does for DITL.

DNS-OARC further welcomes proposals for it to work with ICANN and the
root operators to explore establishment of both aggregated summary feeds
and a public archive of root query and historical data, and affirms its
willingness to build on DNS-OARC's established co-operative
relationships and systems to support this.

If the community is agreeable to OARC taking such a role, and with
suitable funding, OARC would be willing to provision and oversee such
data collection.
