Hello ICANN,
I would like to point out the following potential problems in connection
with your proposed timelines. First it does not appear that ICANN has
properly accounted for successful String Confusion objections. By way of
example the successful String Confusion objections by Google in connection
with .GAMES and SportAccord in connection with .SPORTS should result in an
updated contention set.
In connection with the updated .GAME/.GAMES contention set the inclusion of
Donuts .GAMES application does not appear to alter the auction batches.
However, in connection with the .SPORT/.SPORTS contention set there is a
potential impact on the auction batch lineup, especially when you consider
SportAccord's successful ICC Community Challenge against Famous Four Media's
.SPORT application. As a result of SportAccord's successful ICC Community
Objection, Famous Four Media's .SPORT application should no longer be part
of this contention set (pending final exhaustion of their remedies under the
ICANN bylaws). After removing Famous Four Media's .SPORT application with a
priority number of 384 and including Donuts .SPORTS application with a
priority number of 753 that has a direct impact on the auction batch lineup.
Can you please confirm if my analysis is correct and when ICANN might update
these auction batches to take into account successful objections and their
impact on contention sets.
Best regards,
Michael Palage
