Hello ICANN –
Please do not implement the proposed changes to the rules covering
organizations that provide WHOIS privacy services.
Individuals and organizations should enjoy the presumption of privacy, even
for the registration of domain names. Personal information should only be
revealed with a court order, regardless of the source of the request.
The main effect of your proposed changes will be to raise the cost of
privacy significantly, because it will be more expensive for registrants to
hide their personal info and because it will be much more difficult to do
so in the face of aggressive attempts to out them.
Sincerely,
Kenny Evitt
