REJECT THIS!
This proposals is yet another ridiculous attempt by the corrupt
entertainment industry to circumvent the checks and balances of the legal
system to intrude illegally on user privacy. There is a REASON why a court
order is required for them to gather information such as this. The
entertainment industry has proven time and again that they abuse their
power through DMCA on a regular basis to stonewall even content that they
have absolutely no legal copyright claim to. If they can't be trusted to
not abuse that, how could they possibly be trusted not to abuse this as
well?
No, it cannot be allowed. This needs to be rejected without any appeal or
allowance for "changes to the terminology" trying to make it palatable. A
court order is required to access private information for a reason, and
this should absolutely continue to be a mandatory requirement.
