Hey guys,
I just wanted to voice my objection to banning, or limiting in any fashion, the
practice of registering domains using a proxy.
A few years back, I was a small business owner, and when I registered my domain
name, I elected to use a proxy registrar to do so. This allowed me to prevent
my home address, cell phone, and email, from being publicly searchable with a
simple Whois.
For small business owners, whistleblowers, and just every day folk who want to
register a domain name, this is a critical buffer for their privacy.
All I ask is that you keep things working as is. If there's a problem with
copyright infringers or some such being shielded by their proxy registrars,
then that issue needs to be dealt with at the source, and not by stripping away
individual registrar's privacy.
Thanks for your time!
Dan
