Dear ICANN,
I have the following comments to make regarding the proposed rules
governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy services (as set forth
in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues Policy
document):
- First and foremost, I urge you to respect internet users' rights to
privacy and due process.
- I support the legitimate use of privacy or proxy services to keep
personal information private, protect physical safety, and prevent
identity theft.
- I support the use of privacy services by all, for all legal
purposes, regardless of whether the website is ?commercial?
- Privacy providers should not be forced to reveal my private
information without verifiable evidence of wrongdoing.
- No one?s personal information should be revealed without a court
order, regardless of whether the request comes from a private
individual or law enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private.
Thank you.
