Comments on WHOIS Proposal

Dear ICANN,

Doxxing and Swatting -- two of the biggest threats to freedom of speech on
the internet. Not only do they curtail speech from those afraid of
retribution, they also cause real physical harm to people who anger the
wrong crowd.

One of the best protections against swatting and doxxing is being able to
keep WHOIS data private. It makes it that much harder for anonymous
strangers online to figure out a poster's address.

I urge you to reject any proposal that would make it more difficult for
internet users to protect their personal information behind proxies subject
to proper due process.
