Please don't damage internet privacy

The petition from the entertainment industry will not do much to combat
piracy, but it will put legitimate websites in danger. Doxxing is a huge
problem, and preventing WHOIS proxys will basically guarantee that anyone
whose website has ads can be doxxed much mrore easily. This will make the
internet worse for everyone, except trolls who want to make their threats
as frightening as possible. In the case of copyright infringement and other
illegal activity, there are already ways to gain the registrant's actual
information.
