Dear ICANN,
I write this email to you because I am concerned about the proposed rules
governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy services (as set forth in
the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues Policy document).
As an owner of several domains and websites, I urge you to respect internet
users' rights to privacy and due process.
Forcing website owners to reveal their private data like their home adress
is not only a major infringement of user privacy, but also a security risk
because this info can and will be abused by data collection agencies,
criminals, abusive people and so forth.
Please keep private WHOIS data private. It matters very much.
Sincerely,
R. Giess
