Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
*- Part of what makes the Internet great is the freedom from oppression
when expressing views -- don't kill that!*
*- Yes, criminals will take advantage of anonymity, but you can't stop them
by creating yet another law that takes away everyone's basic freedoms. How
many new laws do we need to create before we realize this?*
*- Many people would be persecuted if their anonymity was compromised.*
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
David Rodrigues
