Dear ICANN:
I object to the proposed change as it will expose thousands of legitimate users
to harassment from other parties. In the current environment there are many
political websites which have a 1st amendment right to free speech. Exposing
owners will grant opposing political parties the option to harass and
intimidate users.
There are many other examples I can think of, I am sure many comments will
touch on them. this is a BAD IDEA. Please don’t proceed.
While I understand the enterrainmen industry desire to quash piracy, there are
legal tools to obtain evidence that can yield warrants.
To remove everybody’s right to privacy to satify a large commercial interest
(with options) is WRONG
I urge you to respect Internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
