Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS
privacy services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services
Accreditation Issues Policy document):
I have no problem with putting my work address in for sites I manage for
work. However I also run sites for my motorcycle club that occasionally
organizes paid events. The fees are intended only to cover our expenses
and we don't make any profit and if we did it would go to charity but
this could be considered "commercial activity". The club has no physical
address and I don't want my home address to be available to everyone.
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court
order, regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual
or law enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
Wayne A. Moore
