Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues
Policy document):
The freedom to choose privacy will effect millions of private individuals whose
security should be protected from determined factions intent on fraudulent
activities and its consequences. ICANN must enable adequate provision before
such events are initiated. Many are unaware of such possibilities and how to
cope with such circumstances.
Domain registrants depend on the integrity of ICANN, its aims and above all
recognition, of its primary role. Registrants recognise the security and
protection and the comfort that the ICANN umbrella provides. All registrants
recognise the provision
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Brian J Graham
