Dear ICANN
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):
I urge you to respect Internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone is entitled under the Constitution and deserves the right to
privacy.
- No ones personal information should be revealed without a Federal Court
Order, regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or
law enforcement agency.
- We think our privacy should be protected, regardless of whether our
website is personal or commercial, and our confidential info should not be
revealed without due process.
- By making our information open would lead to more Identity Theft,
including your own information, as well!
- Unwanted advertising would be forced on everyone without recourse, a very
undesirable situation.
Private information should be kept private and require a Federal Court Order
should be required to see any of it for any reasons.
Thank you,
Ken Powell
