Dear ICANN -

Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):

Why are even considering this policy? This should have been kicked out the
door at the first pass. The majority of the public ARE NOT criminals, even
though the corporations that have come to you drooling in their coffers for
more control like to think so. This proposed acquiescence to corporate
interests that want to turn the internet into their own walled space is
odious (to say the least). There are many legitimate reason that someone
would want to keep their registration information private. Do your job;
serve the public interest and the best interests of the internet in general,
keep private information private.

- Everyone deserves the right to privacy and due process (which this
proposal if implemented would eliminate or weaken)
- No one's personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.

DO NOT APPROVE THIS POLICY. Private information should be kept private.
Thank you.

Victor David Sandiego
