Dear ICANN,
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):
Exposing WHOIS data pushes domain ownership back from anyone to the
privileged. Privacy registrations may stop spammers and scammers but they
also stop doxxing, stalking and swating. The due process of a legal
subpoena is not excessive to protect the privacy of domain holders.
I hope you will reject the proposed rules and help keep domain holding
accessible for all.
