Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues
Policy document):
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
And pointer to add... The internet is full with trolls and ugly people. And
it's also very competitive. So what happens if you mix both together? U get
jealous competitors that would do anything to get ahead. One might create fake
domains or pretend to be authorities and send fake complaint emails to service
providers or even fake dcmas or even fake lawyer letters. In other words, I can
create domain names similar to ICANN's and start threatening sites out there.
