Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues
Policy document): I am a soloprenure who doesn't own a brick and motar business
but instead runs my business from my home. To promote my business through
advertising but because of the nature of my business, I DO NOT need to tell
them where I live, only my phone number and service area. Brick and motar
business owners do not need to disclose their home residences leaving them
vulnerable to attack, and neither should I.
I stongly urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due
process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
