 iCANN - Respect Our Privacy
To: comments-ppsai-initial-05may15@xxxxxxxxxSubject: iCANN - Respect Our PrivacyFrom: Élisabeth Savoie <elisavoie@xxxxxxxxx>Date: Thu, 25 Jun 2015 15:06:35 -0400
My personal note added to the general, collective message bellow :
Dear ICANN -
I am an artist - I own a website to expose my work. I make pennies from my art
in a year, and as most artists, I have another job so that I can make a living.
The proposed change of regulations will affect only the already fragile -
individuals, small businesses, artists, non-profits... People who cannot afford
to pay for a physical location in addition to their home (or that do not want
to, like 14 year old casual bloggers) should not have to reveal their personal
address for the whole world to find, and become vulnerable.
There are already measures in place for law authorities to access the
information if needed. Preventing users from protecting their privacy from the
general public is not only silly given that, but potentially also downright
dangerous for citizens and their family that can't protect their privacy and
will be exposed to becoming harassed, blackmailed or worse.
Thank you,
Élisabeth

Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues
Policy document):
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
