Dear ICANN:
There are many reasons to respect online privacy, regardless of the use
case of their domain, and sometimes, especially because of the nature of
their business. In the case of my mother, who owns a small family
counseling business, her home address should not be published on the
internet and associated with her domain. And there are numerous other
businesses like hers.
Many small online businesses operate out of an apartment or home office.
Why give nefarious minded persons the ability to show up on their doorstep?
This decision will not hurt large businesses who own properties protected
behind a wall of 24-hr security guards and video surveillance systems, but
will solely hurt the kind of small operations that make the internet what
it is.
This is an egregious act which would violate the legitimate privacy of the
weakest internet users who have no multi-million dollar lobby in Washington
to champion our issues.
We have you. Don't let us down.
Sincerely,
Malcolm Shane Harrison
