Please protect domain name owner privacy

Dear ICANN -

Please have the courage to stand up for user privacy, even when doing so
goes against commercial interests. The fact that the domain name system
relies on "privacy protection services" to protect the rights of domain
name owners is itself problematic; further erosions of privacy are
unacceptable. As is so often the case, the impact on criminals of the
proposed changes would be negligible, while the impact and unintended
consequences for ordinary individuals and the independent web would be
extremely harmful.

If ICANN is to be an organization that serves the public, please do your
jobs: reject the proposal to erode domain name owner privacy, and bury it.
