Dear ICANN –

Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):

I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.

- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.

ICANN, it is reprehensible to reveal private information of law-abiding
citizens. This puts them at risk. Please don't allow yoursels to let a few
criminals ruin things for all the good citizens who are abiding by the law.

This policy will not hurt criminals at all. Criminals are clever, and
they're probably already using other methods to disguise their private
information. Why emplace a policy that puts the innocent at risk of *other*
unsavory characters?

It is appropriate for people to have to go through courts to obtain this
information. One hopes this prevents unsavory characters from getting it.
By emplacing this policy, ICANN will remove an important protection from
those who may need it most.

Private information should be kept private.

Thank you,

Ashe Elton Parker
