Dear ICANN –

Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):

Anyone who has any sort of presence online should be aware of the
implications of putting any sort of personal information out where people
can see it. This can lead to all manner of nasty things like calling in
fake bomb threats against someone you don't like.

Requiring people to have both a legitimate physical address for domain
registration as well as not allowing them the ability to hide this from
ne'er-do-wells is, frankly, stupid, and will cause a lot more problems for
the integrity of WHOIS data than currently is seen. It will lead to lying
about their location, their contact information, everything. This
undermines what you are trying to accomplish with WHOIS.

Please reconsider this decision.
