Dear ICANN -
as an internet user and owner of several domains, I am concerned at the
proposed rules that govern companies who provide WHOIS privacy services -
specifically those rules that are set out in the Privacy and Policy Services
Accreditation Issues Policy document:
I would ask you to respect and protect the internet users' right to privacy and
the due process.
The basic right to privacy for everyone is sacrosanct.
Nobody's private, personal information should be visible to anybody without a
court order ( the "due process"). This includes Law Enforcement Agencies and
Government Departments.
Private, privacey and privateness as far as an individual's information is
concerned should be protected.
The sort of action considered is part of the attrition of our rights as
individuals.
All the best,
Mike Field-Dodgson
