I'm very concerned about the changes to the privacy of the WHOIS service. It's
not an issue that affects me personally as a domain owner, but many people I
respect have been target for violent harassment, including doxxing, and we
should not be in the business of making that easier. Especially since the
targets are almost exclusively minorities.
I support:
The legitimate use of privacy or proxy services to keep personal information
private, protect physical safety, and prevent identity theft
The use of privacy services by all, for all legal purposes, regardless of
whether the website is "commercial"
That privacy providers should not be forced to reveal my private information
without verifiable evidence of wrongdoing
Hopefully you will reconsider this change and instead make privacy protections
stronger,
Eileen Denz, CISSP | Security+
