Dear ICANN
I'm writing with regards to the theproposed rules changes to WHOIS privacy
(featured in the “Privacyand Policy Services Accreditation Issues Policy”
document):
I urge you to reject this proposal,
Stripping people who own domains of theright to keep their personal information
private exposes thempotential real life stalking, malicious trolling &
harassment, aswell as scammers.
If a website is doing somethingillegal that should be addressed through proper
court proccedure. There are already legal mechanisms inplace to provide for such
situations.
There is no need to expose everyonesname, home address, and phone number to be
potentially “scrapped”and misused against them.
All people have a basic right toprivacy. They should not be deprived of
itwithout specific and strict legal reasons.
Please don't undermine the internet.Thank you.
