Dear ICANN –
When my friend was stalked for 5 years it was the worst part of her life -
one she is still suffering the effects from both psychologically and
physically.
Any level of internet protection that we can enact through conscientious,
affordable means like namecheap.com, is a matter of our health - even life
and death.
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to SAFETY and privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Women should be kept safe.
Thank you.
Best,
Sophia
